The Honnold Foundation, founded in 2012 by rock climber Alex Honnold, stemmed from his nomadic lifestyle and passion for climbing. After expeditions to Chad and Borneo, Alex researched carbon offsets, environmental activism, energy access, and charitable giving. He chose solar energy for its tangible impact, from lighting a family's home to transforming entire cities.
