Whatever It Takes School

How have we helped?

The funds were raised by 21st Century Leaders, from the sale of Whatever It Takes products.

Corey Taylor from Slipknot introduced 21st Century Leaders to ChildFund International, asking that we raise funds for ChildFund to build a school in Mozambique. 21st Century Leaders contacted the CEO of VANS shoe brand, which is owned by VF Corporation, asking if they would partner with 21st Century Leader Corey Taylor to produce a VANS classic canvas shoe design. VANS kindly agreed to do so, raising $35,303 from the sale of this shoe and other Whatever It Takes shoe designs, in order that the school needed by the Mazivela village could be constructed.

School Construction Project, Mozambique

Funds raised by 21st Century Leaders financed the construction of a 2-room school in Mazivela, Mozambique which will help to educate some of the 781 children within the community. To date all the schools in the area have been built by parents from local materials which are prone to sever damage during heavy storms. During the strong winds the buildings become unsafe and have been known to collapse.

About ChildFund International

ChildFund International, formerly Christian Children's Fund is inspired and driven by the potential that is inherent in all children; the potential not only to survive but to thrive, to become leaders who bring positive change for those around them.

What began as a modest effort to build and operate orphanages, has evolved into a global force working for children encompassing the globe. ChildFund works to improve the quality and structure of the teaching itself and is already training the school councils and community volunteers in school governance & child protection.
